A Chapter Closed: Moving Forward with Our Clients and Our Team

Our clients, our team and our Wollongong community have always been at the heart of everything we do at Cosmetic HQ by Danielle Ryan. You may have seen recent reporting about a Fair Work Commission matter involving our business and a former employee. We believe in being open with the people who trust us, so we want to share a short update in our own words.

The matter has now concluded

Over the past year, a former team member lodged a series of applications with the Fair Work Commission. We took each of these seriously and engaged with the process respectfully and in good faith throughout the process.

In December 2025, one application was dismissed by the Commission on jurisdictional grounds. The final application was discontinued by the former employee in June 2026, before it proceeded to a hearing. At no stage did the Commission make any finding of wrongdoing against our business or our director.

Following the discontinuance, we applied to recover some of the legal costs we had incurred. In September 2026 the Commission declined that application. We respect the Commission's decision, we accept it, and we consider the matter closed.

Wishing everyone well

Workplace disagreements are difficult for everyone involved. We sincerely wish our former colleague good health and every success in the future, and we will not be commenting further on the details of the matter.

What hasn't changed

Throughout this time, our focus has never shifted from what matters most: delivering safe, natural-looking results and genuine care to every client who walks through our door on Railway Street.

• A supported team. We continue to invest in our people through ongoing training, clear communication and a workplace where everyone feels valued.
• Continuity for our clients. Our services, bookings and aftercare have continued without interruption, and they will continue to do so.

Looking ahead

We are grateful to the clients who have continued to choose us, and to the team members who show up every day with skill and heart. With this chapter behind us, we are excited to keep growing, learning and delivering the personalised care our community has come to expect from Cosmetic HQ by Danielle Ryan.
